This was supposed to be Kamala Harris’s week to really put some space between her and former President Trump with a recent interview blitz was meant to energize her campaign and present herself as a fresh alternative to the Biden administration’s shortcomings. However, the effort seems to be backfiring rather than boosting her image. Despite sticking to friendly platforms like “The View” and CBS, the vice president has struggled to articulate how she would differ from Joe Biden in office, leaving audiences with the impression that her administration would simply be a continuation of the current one. When even sympathetic outlets have to heavily edit her responses, as CBS seemingly did, it raises questions about her coherence and capability.
The VP also went on the very popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” which also received backlash. Fans complained that the podcast was getting political and seemed scripted.

Then you have former President Trump, who appeared with very left-of-center Andrew Shultz’s podcast “Flagrant,” there was no teleprompter, no talking points—just a candid conversation where Trump’s humor and personality took center stage.
Folks, this was a considerable risk. Shultz is a populist progressive.
When asked if Elon Musk was his “favorite African American,” he laughed it off while praising Musk for supporting him despite the risks involved in today’s polarized climate. It was a light-hearted moment that demonstrated his ability to connect with people in a way that Harris cannot.

At one point during the interview Shutlz and Trump were joking back and forth rifting off each and it was a side you don’t see of Trump a lot.
The podcast also touched on serious matters, like Trump’s efforts to counter Russian influence by imposing sanctions on Nord Stream 2 during his presidency, which contrasted sharply with Biden’s decision to lift them. As Trump pointed out, these actions were hardly those of a president cozying up to Putin. His conversation covered a broad range of topics, including amusing anecdotes about his children and poignant reflections on fallen heroes, like Corey Comperatore, a firefighter who died in the line of duty. The personal stories and unscripted nature of the interview allowed Trump to convey a sense of humanity that’s often lost in the typical political spotlight.

Kamala can not hold a candle to what took place during that Trump interview. She had to have staffers hand her questions to ask during a FEMA briefing for crying out loud.
Remember Andrew Shutlz’s audience is a center left crowd and this could be one of the interviews that changes everything for the former President.
