Ronald Klain, the former chief of staff and longtime Biden whisperer, showing up for a voluntary transcribed interview with House investigators. And let’s be honest, any time a high-ranking Biden official strolls up to Capitol Hill and dodges reporters like they’ve got a contagious case of the truth, it’s bound to raise a few eyebrows.
Now, to be fair, Klain didn’t have to be dragged in kicking and screaming—he showed up voluntarily. Bravo. A gold star for civic participation. But let’s not forget why he was summoned in the first place. Republicans on the House Oversight Committee, led by Rep. James Comer, are poking around to see whether the President of the United States—our Commander-in-Chief, mind you—has actually been running the show… or whether he’s been more of a figurehead signing documents with an autopen while the real decisions are made by whoever’s managing his naptime.

And let’s talk about that autopen accusation. The idea that major executive actions might have been greenlit without Biden’s full awareness is kind of a big deal—unless, of course, you’re in the mainstream media, where the default mode is shrug and pivot to Trump. But for anyone who still believes the president should at least know what he’s signing, the optics here are… not great.
So Klain—this guy isn’t just any aide. He’s been with Biden through thick and thin, from the Obama-era vice presidency days to the infamous 2020 basement campaign. And most notably, he was one of the masterminds prepping Biden for the debate against Trump that went down like a flaming Hindenburg. You know the one—June 2024, where Biden looked like he was trying to remember whether he left the stove on back at the White House. If Klain helped prep for that, you gotta wonder: what exactly was the plan? Lower expectations so much that muttering a few sentences counts as a win?
Republicans like Rep. Eric Burlison are asking the real questions: Was Biden making his own decisions? Did Klain ever question his cognitive fitness? Was he just following a script? Of course, we’re not expecting Klain to crack wide open like a dropped egg, but let’s just say this—when three other top White House aides had to be subpoenaed and then took the Fifth like it was free candy, it doesn’t scream “Nothing to see here, folks.”
Let’s remember, these are people who worked in the White House. This isn’t some obscure advisory council. These are the folks with eyes on the president day in and day out. If they are lawyering up and refusing to answer basic questions like, “Was the President of the United States mentally present while running the executive branch?”—well, it doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
Capitol Hill SHOCKER:
Ex-Biden Chief of Staff, Ron Klain, did NOT plead the 5th, on ANY question.“I found Mr. Klain to be very credible. He answered every single question. He was fully cooperative. There are times where he was asked about personal conversations he had with the… pic.twitter.com/bAXDiM4vWF

It’s not about partisanship anymore. It’s about whether or not the country is being led by someone who can actually do the job—or if we’ve been duped into accepting a weekend-at-Bernie’s-style administration where aides prop up the president and hope nobody notices.
But sure, keep telling us everything’s fine. The border’s secure, the economy is thriving, and the president is totally sharp as a tack. Nothing to see here. Except, you know, a steady parade of ex-officials tiptoeing through Congress trying not to trip over a subpoena.
The American people deserve answers. Not stonewalling, not carefully worded non-statements, and definitely not government-by-autopen. Because if the president isn’t calling the shots—someone else is. And that’s the real story.
