As many of you know, portions of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee are facing unfathomable devastation.

Thousands are missing, and the death toll is climbing after Hurricane Helene/which had just been downgraded to a Tropical Storm, merged with a low-pressure system and dumped a biblical amount of rain on the mountainous area. That led to flooding and unimaginable landslides.

For example, below is news helicopter footage of a mountainside in Boone, NC, that was completely washed away.

Below is a taste of what occurred:

Towns like Chimney Rock, NC, were washed away.

The city of Ashville, NC also experienced intense flooding, if you go on X (formerly Twitter) the video and pictures are overwhelming. What you see didn’t just happen to a couple of towns it happened to communities all over the surrounding Ashville region.

Biden did declare the area a disaster and we’ll get to what he also said but it was a Kamala posted on social media that’s getting a lot of attention.

“I was just briefed by @FEMA_Deanne Criswell on the latest developments about the ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene. We also discussed our Administration’s continued actions to support emergency response and recovery,” her official Vice President account posted. “I also spoke with @NC_Governor Cooper about the ongoing rescue and recovery efforts in North Carolina. Our Administration will continue to stay in constant contact with state and local officials to ensure communities have the support and resources they need. Doug and my thoughts are with all those who lost loved ones and those whose homes, businesses, and communities were damaged or destroyed during this disaster.”

Her words are right on par with what you would expect but it was the photo that got the attention. For example, you’ll notice her earbuds aren’t connected to her phone.

Her team is so competent (sarcasm) that nobody thought to make sure her earbuds were hooked to her phone in a post about being briefed.

Later, Biden said about additional aid for North Carolina and Tennessee.
