Oh, would you look at that—hell hath frozen over and John Fetterman, the hoodie-clad liberal darling of Pennsylvania, has suddenly developed a taste for common sense. Not just any common sense, mind you, but the kind delivered with a red tie and a booming Philly accent.
That’s right—Senator Fetterman, in the year 2025, just said the unspeakable out loud: Trump was right on the Middle East. I’m sure somewhere Chuck Schumer just spilled his ethically sourced oat milk.
During a Senate Project discussion—an event that sounds more like a community theater production than anything with actual political consequence—Fetterman sat across from Republican Sen. Dave McCormick and basically committed ideological heresy. He praised Trump. Not just a begrudging, let’s-move-on-from-this mention either. No, he went full “he did the right thing” on the Iran Deal. Bold move from someone whose party still thinks “strategic patience” is a solid foreign policy.
Fetterman called out the elephant in the Democratic room (and no, I’m not talking about the few blue-state centrists still pretending they matter). He admitted he wasn’t “allowed” to disagree with the Obama-era JCPOA. “Wasn’t allowed.” That’s some spicy confirmation of what conservatives have been screaming for years—Democrats aren’t debating, they’re conforming. Break ranks, and suddenly you’re persona non grata at the next donor wine-and-cheese.
And guess who did break ranks? Fetterman. He now openly supports Trump’s 2018 move to tear up the Iran nuclear deal and reimpose sanctions. Remember when Trump did that and Democrats howled like it was the foreign policy apocalypse? Turns out, it wasn’t. Turns out, it might’ve been the only adult decision in the room. And now, suddenly, Fetterman wants a military strike on Iran’s nuclear capabilities? That sound you hear is Rashida Tlaib’s head exploding.
Iran amassed 900 pounds of uranium enriched up to 60%.
“60% enriched material is a short, technical step from weapons-grade at 90%.”
Iran is committed to develop a nuclear weapon. We cannot allow that. We can’t negotiate with this regime. pic.twitter.com/27pOhEbADH

Let’s not forget the holy grail of Trump-era Middle East policy: moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Back in 2018, that move had Democrats predicting plagues and fire raining from the heavens. Spoiler: none of that happened. Instead, we got the Abraham Accords—peace deals between Israel and several Arab nations. Actual progress. You’d think Democrats would celebrate that. But no, they were too busy rewriting their statements to say “reproductive justice” instead of “abortion rights” to notice.
So here comes Fetterman, giving credit where it’s due—begrudgingly, awkwardly, but still. He’s the last man standing in the Democratic caucus willing to utter anything remotely resembling the truth about Trump’s foreign policy. You almost want to give the guy a MAGA hat and a pat on the back, but let’s not get carried away—he’s still a Democrat, after all.
We cannot negotiate with Iran.
It’s time to destroy their nuclear program and neutralize the remaining capabilities of its proxies.
I remain steadfast with Israel. Provide whatever is necessary to carry this out. pic.twitter.com/0oJ6MrjqwC

But this does tell us something important: even the loudest voices in the left’s populist wing can’t ignore results forever. Whether it’s Iran, Israel, or just the general notion that maybe, just maybe, America shouldn’t apologize for protecting its interests, the Trump Doctrine left a mark. Fetterman’s just brave—or disillusioned—enough to say it out loud.
Democrats run a hit piece in the NY Mag on Fetterman, staffers say they no longer recognize him
Bc he stood with Israel and not Hamas
Fetterman is welcome to switch sides he’s more in line with Trump, than Collins & Murkowski
Would you be ok with it pic.twitter.com/uQscR9VZhq

Of course, his party will either try to sideline him or spin this as “nuance,” which is D.C. code for “don’t blame us when this backfires.” But the truth is out: Trump got it right on the Middle East, and it only took one of their own to finally admit it. Congrats, Senator. You’ve just had your first red-pill moment.
