The fallout from unsealed documents from the DOJ raid on Trump’s home is increasing so much that the FBI threw the DOJ under the bus.
From Fox News:
An “Operations Order” produced in discovery as part of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into Trump’s alleged improper retention of classified records revealed that the “FBI believed its objective for the Mar-a-Lago raid was to seize ‘classified information, NDI, and US Government records,’” as described in the search warrant.
The order, according to a court filing, contained a “Policy Statement” regarding “Use of Deadly Force,” which stated, for example, “Law Enforcement officers of the Department of Justice may use deadly force when necessary.”
“The FBI followed standard protocol in this search as we do for all search warrants, which includes a standard policy statement limiting the use of deadly force. No one ordered additional steps to be taken, and there was no departure from the norm in this matter,” the statement said.
But we’ve now learned there is a little more to this.
In a leak to the Washington Post (in other words, high-level FBI officials) stated that it was prosecutors who forced them to do the operation, and they tried to push back.
It appears that the FBI wanted to contact Trump and get his permission to search the property, which the Post said was confirmed by “four people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a sensitive investigation.”
According to the Post, “prosecutors” prevailed forcing the FBI to do the raid.
It was a surprise raid on the presidents home with authorization for the use of deadly force
