Usha Vance Dragged Into Jen Psaki’s Latest Comments

Well, well, well — Jen Psaki has officially gone off the rails. Again. But this time, she’s not just stretching the truth or playing semantic gymnastics like she did at the White House press podium. No, now she’s taken to podcasting — because apparently, cable news wasn’t quite echo-chambery enough — to spin up a grotesque little narrative about Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha. And let’s just say, if there were a gold medal for political cheap shots, Psaki just stuck the landing.

On the “I’ve Had It” podcast (a name that seems unintentionally fitting), Psaki managed to insult the Vice President of the United States by suggesting his wife is in some sort of psychological hostage situation, then framed it as if she were just making a quirky little joke. Because that’s where we’re at now — it’s perfectly acceptable for a former White House press secretary and current MSNBC host to lob personal, unprovoked attacks at a politician’s marriage if said politician is affiliated with, gasp, President Donald Trump.

Let’s rewind: Psaki, while sitting with her progressive besties, said she “always wonders what’s going on in the mind of [JD Vance’s] wife” and then asked her to “blink four times” if she needs help. How original. Because nothing says “female empowerment” like mocking a successful woman — an attorney, by the way — for marrying a man you politically disagree with. It’s the kind of fake concern that drips with elitist condescension and thinly veiled disdain for conservatives who dare to fall in love and stay married.

According to Psaki, Vance isn’t just wrong — he’s “scarier than Trump.” Which is quite a feat considering these are the same people who’ve spent the past eight years pretending Trump is a cross between Voldemort and the literal antichrist. Now Vance has leapfrogged to the top of the progressive panic list — because he’s smart, effective, and unapologetically America First. And we all know that scares the living daylights out of D.C.’s ruling class.

Naturally, the social media mob was quick to respond, and even folks across the center-right spectrum weren’t pulling punches. Joe Concha called Psaki out for what this was: not just a bad take, but the kind of low-grade, personal smear that shows Psaki never really left the campaign trail. Others, like Amy Curtis and Libs of TikTok, pointed out the obvious — that it’s deeply offensive to weaponize actual domestic abuse tropes just to score political points. Because, newsflash, there are real women in abusive relationships out there, and mocking a loving marriage for laughs isn’t just bad politics — it’s shameful.

And let’s not overlook the irony here: this is coming from the same side of the aisle that preaches about tolerance, respect, and “believing women.” Unless, of course, that woman is married to a Republican. Then it’s fair game to joke about her mental health, make kidnapping jokes, and treat her like she’s some Stepford Wife in need of rescue.

But Psaki didn’t stop there. She doubled down with some half-baked psychoanalysis of JD Vance, labeling him a “chameleon” and a “Manchurian candidate” because — gasp — he shifted political views over time. Imagine that. A politician who changed his mind. We must alert the presses! Of course, no one on the left ever has to account for their ideological U-turns — not Biden, not Hillary, not even Obama — but if a conservative evolves, suddenly it’s sinister.

Meanwhile, while Psaki’s busy speculating on Usha Vance’s facial expressions, the Vances are in Israel working on the Gaza peace deal. You know, actual diplomacy and leadership. Not snarky podcast gossip hour.

So here’s the bottom line: Psaki’s comments weren’t edgy, they weren’t witty, and they sure as heck weren’t acceptable. They were a nasty blend of elitism and bad faith, dressed up as comedy, tossed at a family that’s doing actual public service. And it’s just more proof that the modern left doesn’t debate ideas anymore — they just smear people, mock marriages, and hope the media industrial complex carries their water.

Keep blinking, Jen. Maybe you’ll see the double standards someday.
