US Withdraws From Key Global Organization

The United States is packing its bags again and waving goodbye to UNESCO, and honestly, it’s about time someone called this bloated bureaucracy out for what it is: a globalist clubhouse pushing a cultural agenda that sounds more like a progressive college syllabus than anything resembling international cooperation.

The Trump administration has made it crystal clear — America isn’t going to keep writing checks for organizations that spend their days churning out anti-Israel resolutions and shoveling taxpayer dollars into programs that are about as useful as a solar-powered flashlight in a coal mine.

Let’s rewind just a bit. Remember when President Trump pulled us out of UNESCO back in 2017? That wasn’t some knee-jerk reaction. That was a calculated decision based on a pattern of behavior that included repeated, brazen bias against Israel and a tendency to promote “global norms” that just happen to look suspiciously like the Democratic Party’s platform on a global scale — gender ideology, climate hysteria, and yes, their favorite buzzword salad: “sustainable development goals.”

The Biden administration, in its infinite wisdom, rejoined in 2023 as part of its campaign to prove just how obedient America can be to every multilateral group that bats its eyelashes. But now? Trump’s saying enough is enough — again.

Here’s the part the media won’t dwell on: UNESCO has a history of doing more talking than actual doing. Sure, they slap a plaque on ancient ruins and say they’re preserving world heritage, but then they turn around and make political declarations that have zero to do with culture or science and everything to do with progressive geopolitics.

You know, like recognizing the “State of Palestine” as a full-fledged member while simultaneously ignoring Israel’s sovereignty and legitimacy at every turn. That little stunt alone should’ve been enough for the U.S. to head for the exit without looking back.

But this isn’t just about Israel — although make no mistake, throwing one of our strongest allies under the bus is definitely a big red flag. This is about American sovereignty. It’s about not letting bureaucrats in Paris tell us what kinds of values our kids should be taught, or how we should spend our money, or how we should treat our borders, economy, and energy policy.

The Trump team is drawing a firm line in the sand — international engagement is fine, but only when it’s actually in our interest, not some utopian vision cooked up by elites who wouldn’t last five minutes in a town hall in Iowa.

The left, of course, is already hyperventilating over this. António Guterres and the rest of the U.N. crowd are clutching their pearls about how this is “devastating” to vulnerable populations. That’s rich coming from a body that spends half its time issuing toothless resolutions and the other half mismanaging funds with all the efficiency of a DMV on Ambien. If they’re so concerned about helping the vulnerable, maybe they should cut the self-congratulatory conferences and get to work on, I don’t know, actual humanitarian efforts — without guilt-tripping the U.S. into footing the entire bill.

So yes, the U.S. is out of UNESCO again, and frankly, we should’ve never gone back. If the Trump administration has made one thing abundantly clear, it’s this: America isn’t a piggy bank for woke international pet projects. And if your organization’s version of “education” includes pushing radical ideologies and rewriting history to appease political activists, don’t expect Washington — at least under a president who puts Americans first — to be part of it.
