Thousands Freed Amid Immigration Disagreement

Well, here we go again. New York, the once-proud Empire State, has apparently decided its top priority is not protecting law-abiding citizens, but rolling out the red carpet for criminal illegal aliens. And the cherry on top? They’re doing it proudly—while wagging a sanctimonious finger at anyone who dares to question the wisdom of releasing murderers and sexual predators back onto the streets.

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, who hasn’t even taken office yet, is already enjoying the fruits of his far-left predecessors’ handiwork. Because if there’s one thing Democrats in New York have truly mastered, it’s crafting policies that make absolutely zero sense to anyone with a shred of common sense. Sanctuary laws? Oh, they’re not just bad. They’re dangerous. And deadly.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, nearly 7,000 criminal illegal aliens have been released in New York this year alone without so much as a heads-up to ICE. Just imagine that. You’re a federal law enforcement agency tasked with removing dangerous, violent individuals from the country—and New York shrugs and says, “Nah, we’ll pass.” That’s not just irresponsible. That’s gross negligence wrapped in a bow of progressive virtue-signaling.

And who exactly are these “guests” that the state is protecting so valiantly? Well, among the nearly 7,000 released are individuals tied to 29 homicides, over 2,500 assaults, and 207 sexual predatory offenses. These aren’t people who overstayed their visas and forgot to fill out paperwork. These are hardened criminals. Real scum-of-the-earth types. But hey, they’re apparently the ones deserving protection under New York’s warped sanctuary ethos.

Let’s not overlook Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin’s comments. She laid it all out—plain as day. These sanctuary city politicians, like Governor Kathy Hochul and Rep. Dan Goldman, are choosing to block cooperation with ICE, ensuring these violent offenders can melt back into the urban sprawl and reoffend. We’re not talking about hypotheticals. We’re talking about cold, hard numbers and names. And it’s ugly.

Take Vyacheslav Danilovich Kim, for example. He was arrested for trying to have sex with someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl. Class act, right? Then there’s Steven Daniel Henriquez Galicia—allegedly opened fire outside an apartment complex in the Bronx. But don’t worry, the state had his back. And Anderson Smith Satuye Martinez, a gang member with a prior assault conviction, was caught with a gun and drugs. Just the kind of guy we definitely want walking free.

This is what we’re up against. While ICE is trying to clean up the streets, New York is propping the door open and handing out get-out-of-jail-free cards like Halloween candy. It’s no wonder ICE Director Todd Lyons had to send a formal letter begging NY Attorney General Letitia James to release the remaining criminals in custody. Spoiler alert: She won’t. She’s far too busy suffering from a chronic case of Trump Derangement Syndrome to bother prioritizing public safety.

Let’s not forget where this all started: disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who not only signed the sanctuary executive order in 2017 but also made sure local law enforcement was prohibited from helping ICE. You read that right—prohibited. No resources, no cooperation, not even a phone call. So criminals walk free while victims and their families are left to pick up the pieces.

This is the twisted world we’re living in—where illegal immigrants with long rap sheets get more protection than American citizens who pay taxes, follow the law, and just want to walk their dog without worrying about being mugged by someone who should’ve been deported years ago.

These sanctuary policies aren’t about compassion or fairness. They’re about political games, plain and simple. Democrats would rather grandstand against Trump and ICE than face the harsh truth that their policies are putting real lives in danger. And New York is just the latest cautionary tale of what happens when ideology overrides reality.
