Trump Considers National Guard for Chicago Deployment

President Trump is doing what Democrats can’t—or won’t—do: confronting the obvious, ugly reality that crime is out of control in major U.S. cities run almost exclusively by progressive leadership. You know, the cities where “defunding the police” was all the rage, where criminals are slapped on the wrist and sent back onto the streets with a pat on the back and a taxpayer-funded social worker. And now, brace yourselves—because when Trump says he’s about to send in the National Guard to Chicago, suddenly everybody’s clutching their pearls.

Let’s be clear: Chicago hasn’t just had a rough couple of months. This isn’t a blip on the radar. It’s been topping the national homicide charts for 13 years. That’s not a coincidence; that’s a policy failure. And what do we hear from Mayor Brandon Johnson and Governor J.B. Pritzker? Not thanks. Not, “Hey, maybe we could use some backup.” Nope. We get the usual cries of “uncoordinated” and “uncalled-for.” As if keeping your citizens from being gunned down is somehow a political stunt.

It’s amazing how the same leaders who can’t seem to explain why children can’t play outside without hearing gunfire are the first to complain when someone steps in with actual solutions. And yes, deploying the National Guard is a bold move, but what’s the alternative? More vigils? Another hashtag campaign? Pretend the gang warfare is just a public relations issue?

Of course, Trump being Trump, he’s not sugarcoating anything. He called D.C. a “hellhole,” and let’s be honest—he’s not wrong. This is a city where you’re more likely to see open-air drug markets than a functioning public restroom. And the moment he brought in the feds and over 2,200 National Guard troops, guess what happened? The city got safer. Imagine that. Law and order actually working. It’s a novel concept, apparently.

And now Chicago is next. “Chicago’s a mess,” Trump said. He’s not lying. When you’ve had nearly 600 homicides this year alone, maybe it’s time to admit things aren’t going great under progressive leadership. But instead of facing the facts, the response from local leaders is to play victim. “We weren’t consulted!” they cry. As if the constant funerals and shattered families weren’t a loud enough signal that something needs to change.

Meanwhile, in Baltimore, Governor Wes Moore invites Trump for a friendly little “public safety walk,” and Trump fires right back: Maybe fix your disaster of a city first. And you know what? He’s got a point. We’ve seen this game before—smiling photo ops while ignoring the core issue. Trump’s not interested in optics. He’s interested in outcomes. The man wants action, not another ribbon-cutting ceremony on a boarded-up street.

He’s also not interested in excuses. When he says, “There will be no MR. NICE GUY,” that’s not just a slogan. That’s a warning to criminals, to the bureaucrats enabling them, and to the spineless leadership that pretends everything’s fine while cities crumble around them. He’s laying down a challenge to the mayors and governors who’d rather posture than protect their people.

And let’s not overlook the part that has leftist Twitter in full meltdown: Trump wants the homeless population moved “far from” D.C., and criminals locked up fast. Cue the outrage. But for regular Americans who are tired of walking over syringes to get to work, or watching their cities rot while leadership fiddles with pronouns and diversity audits, this is exactly the kind of straight talk they’ve been craving.

So yes, Trump’s about to ramp things up. And sure, the blue-state leaders will call it authoritarian or “fascist” or whatever the buzzword of the day is. But when the bullets stop flying and the streets start clearing, let’s see who’s still whining. Because at the end of the day, you can’t spin statistics. People are dying, cities are collapsing, and someone finally decided to do something.

And if that makes the Left uncomfortable… maybe they should ask themselves why.
