Obama’s attempt to inject humor into his speech at the University of Pittsburgh seems to have missed the mark, stirring controversy instead of laughs. While campaigning for Kamala Harris, Obama made a crude joke about Donald Trump, suggesting that the former president might wear adult diapers. The jest came up while reminiscing about the high cost of diapers during his own parenting years, which has got up even higher thanks to the Biden-Harris administration.
The joke did not go over well.
Obama, "I remember buying diapers. I remember the first time I went in the store. I was like, what? That is how much diapers cost? I remember changing diapers. Do you think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper?" pic.twitter.com/vmVV2AY5Kz

The backlash on social media was swift, with some users pointing out the irony given President Biden’s age, and others criticizing the former president for being out of touch with the real concerns of Americans, like the cost of living. In particular, some found the joke distasteful, noting that many adults genuinely struggle with medical conditions that require them to use adult diapers, and using this as a punchline seemed insensitive.
Trump’s jokes about Biden during the Andrew Shultz podcast “Flagrant” appear to have really gotten under their skin.
NEW: Trump says the only thing Biden is better than him at is sleeping, says he “doesn’t want to know” what he’s packing when he wears his bathing suit at the beach.
Lmao.

Meanwhile, here’s a dazed and confused Biden:

Other comments from Obama have also created a backlash.
According to several reports, the former President attacked African American men who are on the fence about Kamala.
“And you’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses, I’ve got a problem with that,” he said.
“Because part of it makes me think — and I’m speaking to men directly — part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”
Obama added that the “women in our lives have been getting our backs this entire time.”
“When we get in trouble, and the system isn’t working for us, they’re the ones out there marching and protesting,” he said.
“And now you’re thinking about sitting out or supporting somebody who has a history of denigrating you, because you think that’s a sign of strength, because that’s what being a man is? Putting women down? That’s not acceptable.”
Wow. Obama’s message to Black men in PA tonight, per pooler @EricaLG

Democrats haven’t realized it yet, but they have a bigger problem than they think.
The belief was bringing out Obama would rally support, but it’s been a long time since he was president, and much of the younger electorate – that he’s supposed to be reaching – aren’t tied to him like older voters.
From their perspective, Obama is a rich guy who hangs out with elites at Martha’s Vinyard.
