Let’s dive into a story that’s been creating quite a buzz recently. Vice President Kamala Harris seems to be taking a new approach when it comes to handling the press, and it’s raising some eyebrows.

Now, picture this: Harris, who’s been the de-facto Democratic Party presidential nominee since July, has been under intense scrutiny lately. Critics, including former President Donald Trump, have been hammering her for what they see as her dodging the press. And you know what? There might be some truth to that. In over 40 days since President Biden paused his re-election campaign, Harris has given just one interview.

That’s right, just one. And to add to the intrigue, this interview wasn’t even solo. She was joined by her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and the whole thing lasted a mere 18 minutes on CNN. Not exactly a marathon, right?

But here’s where it gets interesting. Since mid-July, Harris hasn’t done any solo interviews or held a formal press conference. She’s been steering clear of impromptu questions from reporters during her campaign stops. So, what’s going on here? Is this all part of a deliberate strategy?

Well, there was a moment that really got people talking. While leaving Joint Base Andrews for a campaign event in Detroit, Harris was seen wearing headphones as she boarded her plane. Reporters were shouting questions, but she gave them just a quick wave before heading up the stairs, seemingly in a hurry to avoid any interaction. And let me tell you, this clip spread like wildfire on social media. Critics were quick to pounce, with some calling her media-shy and others questioning her readiness to lead.

For instance, independent journalist Nick Sorter didn’t hold back, calling Harris “UNFIT to be President” for what he saw as a deliberate attempt to dodge the press by wearing headphones. The Trump campaign also jumped on this, suggesting that if she’s going to pretend to be on the phone to avoid questions, she should at least do a better job acting the part.

But it’s not just the press avoidance that’s drawing criticism. Harris hasn’t released a formal policy platform yet. Sure, she’s mentioned some ideas like price controls on groceries and a hefty tax credit for first-time homebuyers, but nothing has been finalized. And to add to the uncertainty, her campaign has been flip-flopping on several key Biden-Harris Administration policies, including the border wall and electric vehicle mandates.
