Ah, yes, nothing screams “California values” quite like lecturing a sitting vice president over immigration policy while sipping a $7 oat milk latte and walking past tents lining Venice Beach.
Welcome to the land of contradictions, where Governor Gavin Newsom – the man who presides over a state teetering on the edge of total dysfunction – finds it appropriate to moralize from his glass mansion on family unity, all while his own policies have helped make California one of the least livable states in the country for actual American families.
So, JD Vance takes his family to Disneyland. He’s the vice president of the United States, mind you. He’s entitled to some downtime with his wife and kids without being dragged into a Twitter food fight, but no – Gavin simply couldn’t help himself. He just had to hop online and play Captain Virtue Signal, accusing Vance of tearing families apart.
Really, Gavin? You preside over a state where fentanyl overdoses are through the roof, homelessness is an epidemic, and taxes are chasing businesses out faster than you can say “Tesla.” Maybe check on your house before throwing rocks at someone else’s.
🔥 JD Vance just hit Newsom with the politest mic drop in history:
“Had a great time, thanks.”

Now, let’s talk about the real heartburn here: immigration enforcement. The Trump-Vance administration decided to actually enforce the law. Shocking, I know. After years of chaos at the border, with millions pouring in unchecked, someone finally decided that enough was enough.
The raids in California weren’t some random act of cruelty – they were targeted enforcement efforts aimed at illegal activity, including potential child labor violations. You know, the kind of thing that used to outrage people on both sides of the aisle until Democrats figured out it’s politically advantageous to pretend every single illegal crossing involves a sweet family just looking for a better life.
And yes, there were protests. Because of course there were protests. This is California, where blocking traffic and waving signs is a full-time job for some folks. Never mind that some of these protests are defending the use of underage labor. Never mind that immigration laws exist for a reason.
If you’re enforcing them, then suddenly you’re the villain. Even if the alternative is turning a blind eye to child exploitation, drug trafficking, and a broken system that punishes legal immigrants while rewarding those who flout the rules.
Oh, and let’s not forget the part where Marines and National Guard troops had to be deployed to LA. Think about that for a second. You’ve got a major U.S. city needing military support not because of a foreign threat, but because local authorities – and let’s be honest, Newsom himself – have completely abdicated their responsibility to maintain law and order. But in his mind, the real crime is JD Vance riding Space Mountain with his kids.
The selective outrage here is almost impressive. When it’s convenient, Democrats cry about the rule of law. But when that law is applied to illegal immigration – especially under a Republican administration – suddenly it’s all “fascism” and “family separation.” Never mind that the system was a mess before Trump or Vance ever got involved.
Never mind that the Obama administration did many of the same things and nobody batted an eye. The truth is, they’re not mad about policy. They’re mad that someone is finally doing what they wouldn’t: securing the border and prioritizing American sovereignty.
Gavin Newsom’s Twitter jab wasn’t about families or compassion. It was a cheap political shot designed to score points with his base – the same base that seems more outraged by border enforcement than by the rise in violent crime or sky-high cost of living in their own backyard.

And JD Vance, to his credit, didn’t take the bait. He simply replied, “Had a great time, thanks.” Translation: “We’re going to do what needs to be done, and your moral posturing doesn’t move the needle.”
Funny how enforcing federal immigration law is now considered controversial – but letting your cities crumble, your streets turn into campgrounds, and your schools flounder? That’s progressive leadership, apparently.
