Well, strap in, because Vice President JD Vance didn’t exactly hold back Thursday — and frankly, it’s about time someone called Minnesota Governor Tim Walz what he is: a joke. Not a clever one, not a subtle one. Just a flat-out, bad-for-everyone, are-you-kidding-me kind of joke.
This all started when Walz decided that the right moment to bring up Minnesota’s Civil War contributions was… after an ICE officer shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a woman Homeland Security says tried to run over federal agents. Yes, instead of backing the agents who were literally trying not to get flattened, Walz took a detour into 1863 and Gettysburg. Because nothing says “I have a handle on the chaos in my state” like quoting war history while your streets are dealing with actual lawlessness, fraud, and, oh yeah — ICE agents under attack.
Vance, never one to mince words, said what a whole lot of Americans are thinking: “Tim Walz is a joke.” And you know what? He’s not wrong. The guy stood by while Minnesota became ground zero for massive fraud during COVID — we’re talking hundreds of millions of dollars funneled away under his watch in the so-called “Feeding Our Future” scandal. A scheme that was supposed to feed hungry children ended up feeding someone’s offshore account. Bravo, Tim.

And now? The housing fraud program. Medicaid money that was supposed to help people with disabilities and mental illness find stable housing? That’s right — also under investigation for becoming yet another jackpot for grifters. At this point, it’s like Minnesota’s social services department has a revolving door for scammers.
But Walz doesn’t want to talk about that. He wants to stand on the ghost of the 1st Minnesota Infantry and give sermons about “holding the line on democracy.” Give us a break. The only line that’s being held in Minnesota right now is the one outside the fraud office, where swindlers line up to see what’s left of the state’s bloated, poorly managed programs.
Whistleblowers are claiming that not only did Tim Walz know about the BILLIONS of fraud but he also retaliated against anyone who spoke up.
If that is true, he should not only resign but leave office in handcuffs.

And let’s not forget Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who apparently missed the memo from Homeland Security that Good tried to kill law enforcement with a vehicle. Frey says the feds are trying to “spin” the shooting as self-defense. You can’t make this stuff up. When a DHS spokesperson literally says the suspect weaponized her car, and the Secretary of Homeland Security calls it domestic terrorism, maybe, just maybe, it’s not the time to play defense attorney for someone who tried to mow down agents.
Walz’s office, predictably, didn’t bother responding to Fox News when asked for comment. Maybe they’re busy crafting the next grand speech about Civil War heroes, hoping we’ll forget that the state’s been hemorrhaging taxpayer money and trust at an astonishing rate.
Even Elon Musk couldn’t resist joining in, calling Walz a “traitor.” And let’s be real — that’s not the kind of label Musk tosses around lightly. But in this case, when you preside over a state where corruption thrives, where law enforcement gets thrown under the bus, and where you answer federal fraud probes with a history lecture, what do you expect?

Trump’s already pegged Minnesota as a hub for money laundering, and he’s not wrong — again. When programs designed to feed kids and help vulnerable citizens find housing end up as piggy banks for scammers, it’s no longer just mismanagement. It’s systemic rot. And it happened on Walz’s watch.
So yeah, JD Vance called him a joke. And if anything, that might be putting it politely.
