Recently, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg appeared on The Daily Show to discuss the rapidly evolving state of the 2024 presidential election. The conversation, however, quickly shifted focus to Senator J.D. Vance. Buttigieg, who has frequently criticized Donald Trump’s new running mate, had some particularly pointed remarks this time.
“There is a temptation to have our message be entirely about Donald Trump because we’re so disturbed by what his return would mean,” Buttigieg remarked. “And maybe a little more also about J.D. Vance because of how odd he’s turned out to be.”
During his chat with Jon Stewart, Buttigieg elaborated, “He just systematically insulted so many people. It’s not just the kind of things he said but the policy ideas behind them. Like, he has this idea that you should get extra votes if you have kids… He suggested that you should have extra votes if you’re a parent.”
Buttigieg didn’t stop there. “He doesn’t just say that being a parent gives you an important role as a citizen, which I agree with because it gives you a unique perspective on the future; it’s that not being a parent makes you less,” he continued.
Vance’s comments really have the left flipping out from the frazzled lady to what Buttigieg said during an online event called “White Dudes For Harris.”
Buttigieg said that “men are more free” when women can get an abortion. The Transportation Secretary seems to elude that when women have access to abortion, it allows them to skirt possible parental responsibilities.
It also seems to elude that abortion benefits men more than women because they are stuck with the decision and the emotional toll that comes with the decision.
“Men are also more free in a country where we have a friend who stands up for things like access to abortion care. Men are more free when the leader of the free world and leader of this country supports access to birth control,” Buttigieg said.
Pete Buttigieg says that men are freer when abortion is legal because men can have consequence free sex and simply kill their unborn babies instead of taking responsibility for them.
But J.D. Vance is weird or something.
