Another tragic shooting, this time at an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas, and while the dust is still settling, the usual dance has already begun — vague details, a few public statements, and the media just barely mustering the energy to care. You’d think that a direct attack on a federal immigration enforcement facility — you know, the kind of place actually trying to maintain law and order — would spark more outrage. But let’s be honest: If this had been a Planned Parenthood office or a Greenpeace fundraiser, the headlines would be in ALL CAPS by now, and the calls for congressional hearings would already be bouncing off the Capitol dome.
According to Fox News, the shooter opened fire around 7:30 a.m. local time as ICE officers were transferring detainees into the facility. Sources say the attacker tried to force his way in through the sally port — a secured entrance typically used for vehicle transfers. Three people were reportedly shot, and two of them killed. The shooter ended his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. So, if you’re counting, that’s three people injured (including the shooter) and at least two innocent lives lost in a facility whose job is to enforce immigration law — the very laws that many in our current political climate treat like optional guidelines.
Yesterday afternoon, Ilhan Omar called for ICE to be “abolished.”
Last night, Gavin Newsom called for people to “push back” against ICE agents.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who, let’s be honest, has had her hands full dealing with the chaos inherited from years of federal neglect at the border, confirmed the deaths and called out the “unprecedented violence” against ICE agents. That’s putting it mildly. These men and women are constantly vilified, called fascists, and painted as villains by activists and certain members of Congress who seem more interested in protecting feelings than enforcing laws.
Sen. JD Vance and Sen. Ted Cruz both chimed in quickly, offering thoughts and prayers for the victims and thanks to the first responders. And thank God for them — not just the responders, but leaders who are still willing to publicly support the idea that America needs borders, laws, and the people willing to enforce both. Because in case anyone missed the memo, ICE isn’t out there terrorizing grandmas. They’re tracking down criminals, deporting illegal aliens who break the law, and trying to restore some semblance of order at a border that’s been anything but secure.
But here’s the part that ought to raise eyebrows: the slow, almost muted media reaction. Imagine if the roles were reversed — if this had been an abortion clinic or a progressive nonprofit. The narrative would be locked in before the facts were even confirmed: right-wing extremism, political violence, domestic terrorism. But ICE? An agency that’s become a convenient punching bag for the woke crowd? Meh. Just another Wednesday, right?
Joshua Jahn, the man who carried out a deadly shooting on an ICE facility in Dallas, left behind a literal anti-ICE message on a rifle cartridge where he killed himself.

And let’s talk about motive — or rather, the conspicuous lack of discussion around it. Authorities haven’t confirmed who the shooter was or what their motives might have been, but don’t hold your breath for a deep-dive CNN panel dissecting whether anti-ICE rhetoric has gone too far. Spoiler: it has. And when you consistently paint law enforcement as villains and glorify illegal crossings as some noble, victim-filled pilgrimage, don’t act shocked when someone takes it too far.
This was a deliberate, violent attempt to breach a federal facility. That’s not just some random act of violence — it’s a targeted attack on the very institutions designed to protect American sovereignty. It’s also part of a growing trend: law enforcement under siege, literally and figuratively, while much of the media yawns and progressive politicians tiptoe around the idea that maybe — just maybe — demonizing these officers for doing their jobs has consequences.

So yes, pray for the victims and their families. But also, pray for a return to sanity — one where we can enforce our laws without having to apologize for it, and where those who defend the border aren’t treated like criminals themselves. Because this latest attack? It’s not just a tragedy. It’s a warning.
